George's Mexican Food
About This Spot
George’s Mexican Food is one of those unassuming neighborhood spots that feels like a quiet, familiar nook amid the steady hum of Huntington Beach life. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows just enough to savor what’s coming without fuss or fanfare. Whether you pop in for a quick takeout or choose to sit at one of the simple, no-frills tables inside, there’s a comforting hum of routine and warmth that welcomes regulars and newcomers alike.
The atmosphere carries a sense of steady tradition—a local staple where familiar faces, from families to neighborhood workers, come to satisfy genuine cravings. It’s casual and approachable, the kind of eatery where the focus is straightforward and sincere: good food made with care, served consistently day after day.
The menu offers more than just standard fast food fare; it’s a small celebration of classic Mexican dishes that feel honest and anchored in tradition. You can almost sense the daily rhythms in the way patrons customize their meals at the salsa bar or linger over a plate of expertly shredded beef tacos or a carnitas burrito that’s just right—hearty, flavorful, and dependable. The soft clatter of takeout orders blends with the occasional sizzle from the kitchen, underscoring a neighborhood routine that’s as much about comfort as it is about convenience.
Despite its modest size, George’s has earned a quiet respect from locals who value its straightforward approach. The food, rich in flavor and generous in portions, reflects a connection to authentic Mexican home cooking without pretense. It’s a place where the details matter—not in flashy presentation, but in the warmth of familiarity and the way a meal here can feel like a small but meaningful part of the day.
If you find yourself craving something genuine, where the rhythm is unhurried and the flavors echo traditions carried across generations, George’s Mexican Food offers a simple, steady joy. It’s not just a quick bite; it’s a moment to step into a local story shaped by consistency, kindness, and a shared love for food that feels like home.

For a quick lunch or dinner on the go George’s is a great little place to go. Been going there it seems like forever. Consistency good food is a staple in probably why they have lasted for so long.

A small hole in the wall mom and pop restaurant that does mostly take out. And the food is good and fairly plentiful. I notice Huntington Beach police officers ordering from there too so you know it must be a good place.

The food here is delicious and affordable. I usually get the chili rellano and its only $1 more for a two item so why not add a taco. Drive through and dine in options available.

I was working as a teacher in Garden Grove and happened to mention that we were looking for good carnitas. A Mexican aide told me to try George’s! The best around, she thought. We weren’t disappointed!!

I love hard shell tacos, good ones are hard to find. Other places taste & look like store bought corn shells. My sons Robert & Jake bought me some for momma day.

It’s always a the mom and pops that taste amazing!!!This place seems to be underrated, Because the couple times that I’ve been here it’s not packed either They have fast service or not a lot of people know about it, ! but the food is so good.!!!! I highly recommend this place. It’s not too expensive and the quality and taste of the food is great. This place should be famous!!!

Amazing food and friendly service every time! Junk Smiths team love to have lunch at George’s Mexican Food , it is hands-down one of the best local spots in Huntington Beach! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — you can tell everything is made with care. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the staff treats you like family. Whether we’re grabbing burritos, tacos, or their incredible carne asada fries, it always hits the spot. It’s become a go-to lunch stop for our Junk Smiths crew — nothing beats a solid meal from George’s after a long day of work! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food with great vibes and consistent quality.
